要旨
デジタル化の進展は著作物のコピーを容易にし、事業者はコピーの取り
締まりに熱心である。しかし、コピーが売上を減らしているかどうかに
は疑問の余地がある。もしコピーが売上が減らさないならコピーは経済
厚生を高めており、是認される。音楽ＣＤのコピーコントロール（ＣＣＣＤ）
の効果を調べてみると、売上に影響が出ていない。したがって、
ＣＣＣＤは厚生改善的でなく、廃止すべきである。

報告タイトル Vertical mergers and product differentiation
要旨 Considering the relation between downstream firms' strategies of
product differentiation and vertical relation, we develop an
equilibrium theory of vertical merger that incorporates strategic
behaviors in the Hotelling type location model. We show that
vertical integration enhances the degree of the product
differentiation concerning with the integrated firm. Under some
condition, a partial integration appears in equilibrium and then
the profit of the non-integrated downstream firm may be enhanced
by the partial integration.

abstract:
We investigate Stackelberg competition in which there are 1 leader and n followers.
The leader is the only player who has the cost advantage. We induce the the limit outcomes
when the number of followers goes to infinit
and verify three cases arise.
One is the case the leader becomes the monopolist.
Also there exists the opposite case where the leader is not able to stick out of competitive market.
In the intermediate case, the leader occupies an entire market but does not have the power to make the price.

abstract:
An infinitely repeated duopolistic competition with endogenous timing is considered in this paper. The underlying market structure covers various duopolistic
competition such as quantity and price competition. A sufficient condition for the security level punishments is derived. The condition implies that the set of SPE
outcomes is enlarged by introducing the endogenous timing. In other words, firms may use timing strategically to sustain more profitable collusion if the discount
factor is not sufficiently large. Furthermore, the condition is also a necessary condition under certain market structures.
